Establish a personal budget. This is essential for families and individuals. You will not be able to save money unless you know how much money you have coming in, and how much money you have going out. Once you have prepared a budget of incoming money and outgoing money, you will be able to identify areas where you can save. It is MUCH more difficult to save money over a long period of time (the rest of your life?) without a budget. A budget can be a simple list one one side of regular money spent and on the other side regular money coming in. Make your budget long term, to suit - weekly, monthly and yearly. Once you have a budget you will better understand your finances and how to save money.
